The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
About the role
We are seeking 4 x Family Partnerships Coordinator’s to implement The Smith Family's scholarships and take a strength based, family led practice approach to support stronger educational outcomes for students and maintain key relationships with a range of stakeholders, including families on the program, partner schools, community groups and volunteers. Reporting to the Team Leader and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will:
- Liaise with Schools and Principals on the progress of student referrals to the program
- Enhance relationships with key people in Schools to positively impact on attendance and school completion rates
- Use a strengths-based approach to build family's capacity to support their children's education
- Take a family led practice approach to maximise school attendance and support key transitions
- Ensure excellent database management and administration support for students
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills (including computer literacy, data entry and time management)
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining relevant community partnerships
- Proven experience in working with families taking a family partnership approach
- Hold a current driver’s licence
