The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures.

 

VIEW (Voice, Interests and Education of Women) is a national women’s organisation and support network bringing together women to enjoy social activities, develop skills, make connections and participate in networking events, while also supporting and advocating for the education of young Australians experiencing disadvantage. VIEW members exclusively support the children’s education charity, The Smith Family. Connected by this common purpose, women across Australia join VIEW to:

 

  • Build strong communities by making lasting friendships, sharing ideas and knowledge and enjoying social activities
  • Learn and develop new skills, while giving back to their communities, and
  • Advocate for and support the educational outcomes of young Australians experiencing poverty

 

 

About the role

 

We are seeking a VIEW National Operations & Member Support Officer to join a dynamic VIEW National Office Team. Reporting to the National Manager VIEW and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, and volunteers to support the 13,000 VIEW members throughout Australia, you will:

 

  • Support VIEW National Leadership Team, Zone Councillors and Club Committees, prepare and distribute agendas and minutes of meetings
  • Perform analysis of key VIEW metrics and produce in-depth data – PowerBI (membership, financials, students sponsored)
  • Support the creation of VIEW Matters Magazine - (story provision, sourcing photos from clubs), proofreading and distribution list for mailing (twice annually)
  • Update and manage content of VIEW Website –in a timely manner, support volunteers (Website Working Group), liaise with TSF Website Team as needed. (ongoing)
  • Monitor VIEW correspondence including post with cheques and VIEW mailbox – review, distribute or forward VIEW Club emails as required.  Includes receiving payments, new member applications, queries, etc.
  • Create documents and prepare (run sheets, regulatory and promotional booklets, powerpoint presentations, etc) and promotional flyers as needed for VIEW

 

 

About you

 

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

 

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent professional experience
  • Three years of proven high-level experience in office administration procedures and skills
  • Database management experience
  • Ability to adapt and be an “all rounder” – wide variety of tasks and skills required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take the initiative and self manage  
  • Time management and multi-tasking essential, prioritising competing deadlines
