The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures.

 

 

About the role

 

Our Learning for Life program provides emotional, practical and financial support to help children and young people experiencing disadvantage with their education. Our support starts in the early years of learning development and continues through primary and high school. This position will role model the organisational values, our required practice framework approaches and will embed a coaching framework to develop team capability to support and drive growth. This role will champion and embed organisational change, supporting and inspiring your team to adapt and innovate in a fast-evolving environment.

 

As a Team Leader, you will:

 

  • Lead, supervise and work with local team members to implement strategies to meet agreed outcomes
  • Ensure outcomes are achieved through overseeing and supporting delivery of the Learning for Life program in accordance with The TSF model
  • Lead the local implementation, reporting, monitoring and contribution to evaluation in partnership with members of the TSF team
  • Develop partnerships with schools, community organisations, business and local community members

 

 

About you

 

Team Leaders come from varied backgrounds with different skills and experience. As well as a passion for developing others and enabling your team to improve student outcomes, you will bring:

 

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team; strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse stakeholder groups, internally and externally
  • Demonstrated influence and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Diverse children, young people and families
  • Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • A current drivers license and a NSW Working with Childrens Check
