The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education. 

 

We are seeking a Team Leader, Learning for Life to join our organisation. Reporting to the Regional Programs Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will be responsible for leading and supporting a geographically dispersed team responsible for implementing our programs within the community. You will provide coaching, guidance and support the team in building strong and lasting relationships with students, families, partner schools and other community agencies.  You will also play a key role in contributing to and enhancing our positive organisational culture.

 

About our role

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Leading, coaching and mentoring team members to drive and achieve continued success.
  • Supporting the team to implement programs in accordance with guidelines, agreed processes and targets
  • Working with your team, develop and maintain strong working relationships with partner schools and relevant community agencies
  • Leading results by ensuring the team understands and applies The Smith Family outcomes framework and requirements that support program fidelity
  • All aspects of people management for direct reports including recruitment, induction, development plans and performance management.

 

About you

 

As well as a passion for community, you will bring the following:

 

  • Solid experience in people leadership and managing a dispersed team
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting quality program implementation within the NFP sector
  • Able to lead discussions and work with stakeholders at various levels
  • Outstanding communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Experience working within a national organisation is advantageous
  • Ability to travel within allocated community and a current driver’s licence is essential
