The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
About the role
We are seeking a Project Officer, Communities for Children to support the facilitation of the Communities for Children (CfC) Raymond Terrace and Karuah initiative, funded by the Department of Social Services. Reporting to the Project Manager, Communities for Children and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will:
- Maintain appropriate records management processes for monitoring and reporting on funding activities
- Support and build capacity of funded Community Partner organisations to effectively deliver services to children and families
- Build and maintain positive relationships and networks within the community, and in support of the Site Community Strategic Plan
- Provide ongoing analysis of community data and identification of trends to inform planning and implementation
- Initiate and facilitate activities, and events that support CfC strategic partnerships and goals
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the child, family and community services sector and service systems
- Experience in data collection and data systems
- High level and sensitive communication skills (verbal and written)
- High level teamwork skills as well as the ability to work independently in a dynamic and changing environment
- Full, current Drivers’ License or an ability to obtain one prior to or shortly after commencement
