The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
About the role
We are seeking a Programs Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of the Learning for Life program in the local community. Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning for Life, you will:
- Work with a prioritised group of students and families on their identified goals and collaborate to develop actions related to those goals
- Support families to achieve a high level of school attendance, effective school transitions, senior school engagement and post school planning
- Establish and maintain Partner School relationships and monitor progress, planning and implementation, and feedback on programs and activities
- Continually monitor program delivery and ensure the database has accurate and up to date information
- Advocate for and answer enquiries relating to The Smith Family educational programs
- Meet with fellow team members to discuss potential improvements that can be made to the programs
- Work with community leaders to identify partnership opportunities
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in presenting and facilitating
- Excellent organisational administrative skills (including computer literacy, data, and time management)
- Demonstrated capability to manage and plan own work to achieve identified goals within time constraints
- Flexibility to respond to competing demands
- Good negotiation skills
- A current driver's license and employee Working With Children's Check (or willing to obtain WWCC)
