The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education. 

 

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our organisation. Reporting to the Group Manager, Agile Delivery and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members in a dynamic Agile environment, this role will drive the design, development and delivery of digital products and services to support programs of work.

 

About our role
 
You will be responsible for:

 

  • Create and maintain a backlog of prioritised epics and user stories. 
  • Identification and delivery of incremental value in line with the products and services roadmap and vision in line with the quarterly goals 
  • Prioritisation of work – new initiatives, enhancements, BAU, platform upkeep, training, change management etc.
  • Represent the delivery team in Scrum of Scrums, and other forums such as Quarterly Planning and Showcase events.
  • Contribute to a Product Owner Community of Practice/Chapter to increase organisational and personal maturity in the discipline.

 

About you

 

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

 

  • 3+ years of Product Owner experience  
  • Experience in delivering products & services to customers
  • Experience in creating product roadmaps. 
  • Experience in an agile environment 
  • Customer value / outcome driven prioritisation and decision making. 
  • Writing effective user stories with clearly described acceptance criteria.
  • Understanding of and ability to promote continuous improvement
