The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
About the role
We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking finance leader to join us as National Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. In this pivotal role, you will partner with executives and senior leaders to drive financial sustainability and strategic decision-making across The Smith Family. You will be leading a team responsible for ensuring long-term organisational financial stability through oversight of financial modelling, with a focus on fundraising and program delivery.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will:
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver strategic financial insights and modelling that support long-term organisational sustainability
- Oversee the financial models across the organisation which drive income generation and program delivery
- Provide business and market modelling to support the development of new business initiatives
- Partner with heads of functions to ensure their teams contribute to the delivery of budgets and forecasting
- Oversee the delivery of organisational planning activities
- Lead and support the Finance Business Partner and Finance Analyst to prepare detailed budgeting and financial reporing together with meaningful insights into the business
- Identify and develop reports which will support business decisions in relation to growth of programs
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
• Qualifications - CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified or equivalent
• Advanced MS Excel skills with a proven track record in working with accuracy in large and complex spreadsheets
• Superior presentation skills and be able to provide insightful commentary and analysis
• A Finance mind-set with the ability to analyse the output of models beyond the reporting of financial data, providing in-depth business insight
• Strategic thinking, strong written and verbal communication skills
• Very high proficiency in Excel and financial modelling
• Demonstrated ability to use financial and customer management systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
• Ability to “tell the story” through complex data analysis, and to mak recommendations and persuade stakeholders
