The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.

 

About the role


We are seeking a Project Officer, Communities for Children to support the project manager, project committee, community stakeholders and partners in building community capacity. Reporting to the Project Manager – Communities for Children Facilitating Partner (CfC FP) and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will:

 

  • Community Partner support: support project planning, record keeping, build capacity
  • Data coordination and reporting: support strategic planning, support community partners, collate and interpret data
  • Community Liaison: build relationships, networking, support and participate in community events, organise and provide administrative support for meetings
  • CfC FP Activities: support and promote Katherine Region CfC FP 

 

About you 

 

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following: 

 

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Social Science, Humanities or equivalent work experience
  • Can work flexibly in a changing environment.
  • Knowledge of the child, family and community services sector along with knowledge of Katherine and the Big Rivers region.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook) and using web browsers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Full current Drivers Licence or an ability to obtain one prior to commencement. 
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check
