The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education. 

 

We are seeking a Family Partnerships Coordinator to join our organisation. Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning for Life and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role takes a collaborative partnership approach to develop and maintain purposeful education focused relationships with students and families participating in the Learning for Life program.

 

About our role

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Support Learning for Life families to participate in their children's education and overcome any barriers they have identified linked to school attendance and completion.
  • Analysing data to identify families that may have children in need of strategic support.
  • Work with partner schools to enable referrals of families to our program.
  • Maintain Learning for Life program participants to required target.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the database.
  • Administer Learning for Life scholarships
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with identified partner schools and community agencies.

 

About you

 

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following: 

 

  • Proven experience in taking a family partnership approach.
  • Experience in supporting families through challenging situations.
  • Proven experience in supporting families through appropriate referrals to community agencies and local partners.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills including computer literacy, data entry and time management.
  • High level interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a current drivers licence and have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check.
