The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
About the role
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Program Analytics and Reporting Team where you will play a vital role in supporting the monitoring, review and delivery of the Growing Careers Project and other programs that have a long-lasting impact on children and families.
This is a hands-on role, open to early career or experienced data analysts that can demonstrate required skills and experience. You’ll become part of a small, collaborative and highly productive team where your analysis and expertise will make a difference every day. Reporting to the Program Analytics & Reporting Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate their data and reporting needs into solutions
- Create dashboards and reports that turn data into useful and actionable insights that inform decision making
- Collect, cleanse, interpret and analyse data to find answers to specific business questions
- Prepare quarterly and semester reporting for the Growing Careers Project
- Consolidate key data for inclusion in The Smith Family’s Annual Impact Report or program outcome reports
- Support data related queries and guiding effective data practices and data driven decision making
- Develop resources that improve business processes around using and recording data
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience
- Data extraction and analysis skills using SQL on relational datasets
- Experience in Power BI and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas and pivot tables)
- Excellent analytical and communication skills for synthesising and summarising data
- Curiosity, strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- A continuous improvement mindset, able to progress amidst change and ambiguity
