The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.  We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our organisation. Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor and working alongside dedicated, energised and passionate team members, this role will support the Communications team and be involved in creating and distributing branded content across multiple channels.

 

About the role

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Content Creation and Copywriting: Develop clear and consistent branded materials, ensuring they align with The Smith Family’s guidelines.
  • Project Coordination: Assist in managing internal and external communications projects, supporting the delivery of strategies.
  • Asset and Stakeholder Management: Manage image libraries, permissions, and general communications requests across the organisation.
  • Process Development: Contribute to improving internal processes and procedures for better efficiency within the Communications team.
  • Event and Merchandise Coordination: Support the creation and distribution of branded merchandise and manage event-related visuals and assets.

 

About you

 

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following: 

 

  • Degree in business management, communications, or marketing, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in writing, editing, and proofreading across various communication platforms.
  • Proven experience developing content for print and digital channels, with an understanding of multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills, including stakeholder coordination and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and MS Office.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
