The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
About the role
We are seeking a proactive and strategic thinker to take the lead in negotiating key supplier contracts, from commercial services to government and pro-bono agreements. You’ll also be heavily involved in optimising and executing our national property strategy, including finding and setting up new office sites, planning fit-outs, and managing capital works. Reporting to the Group Manager, Strategy, Risk and Commercial, you will:
- Provide advice on major procurement decisions and strategy to General Managers, and the Executive team
- Lead negotiation of key contracts in partnership with the business
- Lead the development of property strategy by site and engage business stakeholders for delivery
- Lead property selection including conduct site search, due diligence and negotiation across Commercial, Government and pro-bono providers.
- Lead a supplier management program
- Documentation management including plans, contracts and required records to ensure regulatory compliance
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Property Management
- 10 years of relevant experience at senior commercial management levels
- Extensive experience with leading negotiations
- Project management experience including contract pricing, negotiation and management, programming, quality control.
- Experience in and knowledge of a wide range of aspects of a property folio.
- Demonstrated experience in managing capex and opex budgets and processes
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a large range of internal and external stakeholders, including landlords and agents
