The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education.
About the role
We are seeking a User Experience Designer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary scrum team to deliver outcomes for customers. Reporting to the National Manager, Digital Marketing and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will:
- Actively participate in scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Create and maintain the relevant user personas and customer journey maps.
- Create visual and interactive designs including prototypes, conceptual diagrams, site maps, interaction flows, storyboards, page/screen wire-frames, information architecture, etc.
- Participate in User Experience Community of Practice, including supporting shared ways of working, contributing to shared artifacts and design libraries, supporting User Experience colleagues as needed.
- Employ research and testing tools to gather consumer understanding to either inform or validate designs.
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Demonstrated experience of user centred design methodologies, usability principles and accessibility requirements.
- Ability to work autonomously in a squad environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good working knowledge of design and web software, e.g. Google Analytics, Mouseflow, Optimizely, AdobeXD, Optimal Workshop.
- Effective communication skills and ability to building and maintaining relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
