The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

 

We are seeking a Team Leader, Program & Scholarship Administration to join our organisation. Reporting to the Manager, Program and Scholarship Administration and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will manage, coordinate and oversee the effective delivery of a wide range of tasks supported by The Smith Family’s volunteers and team members whilst leading specialist area and participating in special projects and working groups to ensure effective delivery of programs.  
 
About our role
 
You will be responsible for:

 

  • Direct management of a volunteer team (in-office and remote) and Program and Scholarship Administration Coordinator/s.
  • Ensuring volunteer roster levels are sufficient to enable service delivery of activities to meet deadlines.
  • Manage multiple operational tasks, projects and activities within the P&S Admin team.
  • Support escalations and direct contact with families/program participants with complex or difficult issues.
  • Management and review of tasks and processes including data manipulation, resource development/updating, accuracy checking.
  • Ongoing develop, management and delivery of training materials to educate and engage volunteers and staff on administration processes.

  • Highly developed administration skills and proficient computer literacy; Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Web technologies. 
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising a team.
  • Highly developed organisational and project management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including facilitation skills
  • Ability to engage with, support  and manage the contribution of volunteers sourced from a variety of backgrounds
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check
