The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education. 

 

We are seeking an experienced Community Fundraising Manager to join our organisation. Reporting to the Marketing Group Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role is responsible for the growth of The Smith Family’s mass market Community Fundraising (CFR) program and overseeing a budget of $2m annually with ambitious growth targets over the next 3 years. This leadership role within the Marketing Fundraising team will manage two direct reports, and works within a strong collaborative culture that involves cross functional engagement to maximise growth opportunities and test new channels.

 

About our role
 
You will be responsible for:

 

  • Oversee the development of the Community Fundraising Strategy
  • Manage income and expenditure budgets
  • Strategic oversight of peer-to-peer events and grass roots community initiatives
  • Oversee management of digital platforms and campaign assets
  • Lead and coach team members and manage workflow across the team


About you
 
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following: 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and/or demonstrable transferable skills in a similar role 
  • Experience leading a charitable fundraising team to deliver campaigns and events.
  • Experience trouble shooting everyday platform and project management challenges
  • Demonstrated project management and agency management experience
  • Budgeting and analysis skills are essential
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
